Seven-day biker raises £22,000
 7 Day Cycle Marathon Raises £22,000
Bro Mark Babington (pictured), a fairly new member of Campbell Lodge No 3643, Worcestershire Province, raised the astonishing total of £22,000 on a sponsored 428-mile 7-day bike ride.

What made this particularly challenging was that at the time he decided to do it he didn't have a bike, hadn't ridden one for over 20 years, and, he would admit, was a little less than fully fit.

In aid of the Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull, and with two friends, Mark cycled from the northern tip of Ireland (Malin Head) to the southern tip (Mizen Head).

Mark said: “'The ride was tougher than I expected. What made it even more difficult was the fact I had to complete the last 15 miles on a child's mountain bike as my chain broke!”

1 Night; 1 Festive Board; 1 PGM; 1 PGS; 2 Lodges; 4 Passings;

On 19thOctober an amazing couple of ceremonies were held to deal with the success of the Campbell Lodge No,3643 recruitment drive. Ceremonies were backing up, so with the assistance of the Lodge of Yardley No.6324, 4 of Campbell’s brethren were passed with both lodges performing two ceremonies on the same night.

 To mark this momentous event, R.W. Provincial Grand Master and The Provincial Grand Secretary were present to witness the proceedings

 Both Campbell Lodge and the Lodge of Yardley opened their meeting with a mixture of Brethren from each lodge taking up the various positions for the evening, Brothers White, Barlow, Sayers and Proctor were passed to the second degree, before the Lodge of Yardley closed and joined Campbell for the Second Degree Charge by W.Bro. Cully, presentation of the Working Tools of the second degree, by one of the Junior Brethren, Bro. Bayliss; the 2nd degree tracing board by 2 Brethren, Bro. Harris (another of the junior brethren) and W. Bro. Dunkley. Just to add to this wonderful meeting another 2 new candidates were proposed.

 After the meeting a joint Festive Board was held with both Lodges in attendance, resulting in a Worshipful Masters’ (in the plural) toast and song.

 An excellent evening was had by all.
